Turning some heads and getting noticed!

I just received an email from Adam at easy jet holidays to inform me that my little blog made the top 10 traveling blogs of July!

I thought it was a joke, but I clicked on the link and it seems like a legitimate article on the easy jet website :-) Very surprised that my blog was selected in the top 10 :-).

Click HERE to see what I'm talking about. I will try to put up the little badge on the side bar, to pay respect for the recognition.

Now for the photos of London I promised and our day in the life of a tourist ;-).

After driving into the Future site of the athlete village we took the underground train into the Heart of London:

Our first attraction was the tower of London....
I stole the above picture from the little board. Lach and I thought it was kind of cool.
Another photo from a different angle of the tower.
The moat and Tower Bridge in the background.
Being a poser....Trying to spice up the photo a little! Haha

What the? Sunny weather in England!?!?! What a strange situation! No wonder the guy in the white shirt is so happy :-)
Tim informed us that this was where the criminals go taken through to be hung, drawn and quartered! Apparently brave heart wasn't a big enough name to be brought through these gates and was just killed in the town square. Unlike what happened in the movie!
another side of the Tower of London.
 Some really cool Lion statues.
A catapult demonstration for the public. Some of the workers were a bit behind the times with there attire..... ;-)
We then jumped on a ferry on the river Themes and headed down to the London EYE.
We passed this really retro war ship on our journey. It was mad.
This was the coolest part about London Bridge. The bridge itself was very plain and boring.
Above is the famous London Bridge..... Moving on very quickly.
A random Bridge (name unknown) including a big red bus! Woo Hoo
Another cool boat on the banks of the river. Most had nice cafes on board which would have been good to check out.
The London Eye..... A successful construction unlike Melbourne's attempt. It was rotating at about 1 revolution per 30min! So we decided not to trap ourselves inside the little pods and kept moving.
BIG BEN!!!!! and Little Lachie :-)
The rest of Big Ben.... Very impressive building.
Some Palace. I was a little disappointed with Buckingham Palace to tell you the truth. It was kind of cool , but a bit of a dull building. I think I was expecting more, especially since London Tower and Tower Bridge were so spectacular.
This was a tower that had AUSTRALIA on it. Naturally we got excited and I took a photo to capture the moment.
THe famous Guards outside the palace. I was very disappointed that you couldn't get closer and try and put them of their guard! Ohh well, next time I will have to jump the fence and chase them....haha.
The plans for the Olympic village. It was a full on construction site at the moment.

Well that was London in a few hourse. We were pretty tired after walking around all day, but it was really cool to see all of the famous sites and scenes that London had to offer. It was no Greek Island, but happy that i got to tick it off the list :-)

Tim was under instructions to take us into London and show us the sights so if we are back next year for the Olympics we have no compulsion to get distracted and can focus on the task at hand. Probably a good idea really. It was a fairly tiring day.

So now I have a trip to AUSTRIA for two Sprint Eliminator Events. I race Thursday and Friday night! Wish me luck because in these sprint Eliminators Luck can play a big hand. I will be back in Offenburg on Saturday then off again on Monday to the Czech Republic (Finally learnt how to spell). As per usual I can't let the grass grow underneath me and the sprint race in Austria has been penciled in for some time. I only just got the detail last week though :-)

I'm done for now. I hope that you all feel more up to date now on everything.
